It was a blur of activity. We got into Universal for free thanks to Josh. If you go, Spider man is a most and the Incredible Hulk is a great coaster. On the other side, I recommend Jaws and Back to the Future. Very fun rides the both of them. The Shrek 4-D experience was fun, but it couldn't compare to Spider-man.
I had a park Hopper pass from when I was a kid, so I went to Disney by myself on Friday. It was great. I went to all 4 parks and even one resort Hotel. I only rode approx 5 rides and saw 2 shows. But I got to play in the arcade! Mom never let me play in the arcades at Disney before citing the logic of "you can play video games anytime. We're at Disney now." I can't disagree with that logic and I wouldn't let my kids play arcade games at Disney, but it was my trip and I was gonna do what I wanted when I wanted. I only spent 10 minutes in there and that included getting my money back from a game that ate it. The first thing I did was ride the haunted Mansion. It is my absolutest favorite ride.
I gave the finger (in Italian) to the "new" Winnie the Pooh ride. Shocking thing replaced Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. The Winnie the Pooh ride can go to hell, just like the rider in Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. The have greatly reduced the fear factor of the Extra-terror-estrial ride in Magic Kingdom and replaced the scary freaky alien with Stitch. Its probably for the best given that Magic Kingdom is the most child oriented of the 4 parks. However, if it was returned to its original glory but moved to MGM, BOOYA, that would rock.
Tower of Terror still gives me goosebumps!
The Everest ride in Animal Kingdom is a great coaster, but the line to it is nice as well. I wish I had spent more time in that spot of the line. It is a museum of sorts dedicated to the Yeti. It has books written on them, photographs and equipment used in mountain climbing as well as various theories at to what Yeti's are.
Disney was great, I had just as much fun talking to people in line and on the boat from the Kingdom to the Polynesian resort. I met a plethora of interesting folk.
Random Story: The other day as I was leaving the comic shop, I was approached by a fellow who asked me for 75 cents so he could get a bus to Knoxville. I always feel a twinge of guilt because I've usually just dropped around 6 bucks on comic books and here is this homeless fellow asking for cash because he is having trouble finding enough money to eat. However, I felt no guilt this time because he a) was walking a little tipsy, b) slurred "seventy" "cents" and "knoxville" 3) passed up on my offer to let him have some of the boxes of cereal I had in my car that I had gotten from a friend.
