I just deleted all my farm space and sold all my items in Farmville. I was spending too much time on that game so I turend my farm into an animal preserve. I may sell off all the other animals and just leave the cows, cuz that would be funny.

Five things that aren't true, but are fun to tell people.

1)Studies have shown that businesses that play Christmas music every Monday have higher office morale. "The week just seems happier," said one office worker. However, playing Christmas music all 5 days of the week just makes people sick of it.

2) The script for the live action Captain Planet movie set for a 2012 release has been leaked. Ma-Ti, the boy with "Heart" powers, will be killed off 1/2 through the movie, and the film will take a darker path. Overcome with rage and without heart to guide him, Captain Planet will become a violent eco-terrorist forcing the remaining Planeteers to stop him from committing acts such as impaling whalers with harpoons and beating to death with a 2x4 someone found clubbing baby seals.

3) Whenever the U.S. government destroys old and tattered bills, if the bill has a www.wheresgeorge.com stamp on it, the government must register that bill as "retired" with Where's George. This is in thanks for the increased use the dollar saw after the site went live.

4) 17 summer camps with "Crystal Lake" in their name or location went out of business within 2 years after the original Friday the 13th was released.

5) In order to promote a more healthy lifestyle, Super Mario will be given a slimmer more muscular look in future Mario Bros games. Nintendo of America issued the following press release "Mario is constantly running and jumping and playing sports and physically active, but he's still a pudgy plumber. We believe that it is sending the message that proper exercise doesn't affect your weight and Nintendo wants to promote healthy choices and healthy gamers. Mario will be even more Super than before!"

I understand the logic behind hate crime law and why it seems like its a good thing when they are passed, but feel that ultimately its helping create a barrier in the search for equality because it says "crimes against you will not be treated the same as crimes against another" which says "you will be treated differently based on your race, gender, or sexuality."

Yes, I know I copied this from my Facebook status, but I'm truly puzzled by this and am hoping for more discussion on it.

I do love whenever people who don't know each other post similar things right next to each other.  One of my friends posted about meeting an old friend at the supermarket and the other posted an Improv Everywhere skit based in the produce aisle.

Yesterday I heard my buddy Tim talk for about 30 minutes about another of his friend's boyfriends and how he has no plans for a career and went to college and didn't do anything with his degree and doesn't really plan for a future.  I don't think Tim realized just how much his description matched me.  It was kinda funny, cuz I'm agreeing with Tim, and the guy does sound like a relationship sponge, but the only difference is he refuses to work and I'm employed.

Its not that I have no ambition or goals, its that I've met my goal of being financially independent of my family.  Now I'm just kinda going, "okay what now?"  And while my goal of "try to make the world better in small ways and help those in need" is very nice, it doesn't really provide for long term planning and it sounds corny as SHOCK!

For now, I'll keep doing as I have been and try to set plans in motion for the future.

Will you participate in Blog Action Day, powered by Change.org? Do you think journaling about environmental issues can raise public awareness and drive (pedal?) grassroots activism to chill global warming? If so, join

Given the very mild summer we've had and the lack of any massive hurricane disasters, I think we're currently winning the war on Global Warming. (Your opinion may vary).

I think that we need to return our focus to the people.   I can do a bit of blogging for that.  www.thehungersite.com   20 seconds of your time will donate 1.1 bowls of food to the hungry.

I'm trying to learn to draw, to make actual art.   I have ideas in my head that would be nice to be able to visualize to the outside world.  Right now, I suck, but I am currently working on a bit of gift art for a friend of a friend.  I'm hoping its kind of a thought that counts sorta thing.  I am learning a lot though, like its important to think about how the people are standing before you try to draw legs.

Hmmmm....maybe I shouldn't start from the legs?  I don't know.  I'm gonna buy a book or two on it next time I'm in Michael's.  Courage Wolf reminds me that true failure comes from not trying, so I'll keep plucking away at it.

I'm gonna try to talk a little bit about Gen-Con and Dragon-Con in the next few blog entries I make.  Rather than make one or two large posts which few people will read, I hope to make several small posts which few people will read and one person will probably take me off their list because they get tired of seeing me post.

Ummm..oh, first story is my major brush with fame the creators of Least I Could Do and Looking for Group two very amusing web-comics.  The content isn't afraid to dip into the juvenile humor from time to time, although that is certainly not its key attribute.  I say that, so you'll understand that I was sure these lads wouldn't be offended by my actions.

On Saturday I went to the Blind Ferret Entertainment booth (The company that publishes LICD) and picked up a copy of LICD book 5, Yield to Me

The book was hilarious, so I decided that I'd buy another book from them.  However, I wanted to do it memorably, so whenever the guys at the booth had a free moment I walked up and the following exchange took place.

Me:  I wanna buy a book but I'm not sure what to buy?
Blind Ferret Employee: What's the problem?
Me:  I'm going to need to use the bathroom in about 10 minutes and I need something to read.
BFE: (Stunned face that lasts for about 30 seconds followed by a thoughtful look)
BFE: Well, it depends on the length.  Least I Could Do is mostly panel jokes with few storylines.  Looking for Group is full page comics and actual storylines, so if you're gonna be in there awhile, I'd recommend LFG.
Me: (Thinking for a minute)  well, it has been mostly fast food and con stuff, its probably not gonna be pretty.
BFE:  Looking for Group volume 1, it is.  Do you have time to have it signed before you ...ummm...need it??
Me:  Sure!  That'd be great.

So that was the story of how I bought LFG Volume 1.  All the guys at the Blind Ferret Entertainment booth are awesome and they are a blast to joke around with.

Do you believe everything has a scientific explanation?

Nope.  A scientific answer has to be provable.  To answer yes to this, you would have to able to scientific prove that you have scientifically proven EVERYTHING.  Since new things keep coming up and invented/discovered, we will probably never be able to find everything, let alone explain it.

If you could travel back in time, what advice would you give to your younger self?

View 560 Answers

Hmmm...the experiences of my younger self helped guide me to this point.  I like where I am in life, so I don't think I'd want to change anything major.  I'd probably warn me to check under the couch for underwear before my friend's come over, cuz they find some and its embarrassing.

Thought I'd take a moment and say something I appreciate about everyone currently subscribed to me.  I know I don't post very often and usually when I do its hardly relevant or even interesting, but I do appreciate you taking the time to read it.  Or if you don't read it, to at least keep me on your list and pretend to read me.

Patches: I really appreciate you letting me room with ya.  It was a blast and I hope to see ya next year.
Aiden: I don't always agree with what you say, but I appreciate the manner in which you say it and that you've always allowed me to say a counter-opinion.
Vael:  You've always been a blast to RP with and I hope to see ya at Gen-Con.
Ann Vole:  You're always a wealth of information in your posts and I still sing the "Purple" song you posted.
Atmafox:  You're very friendly person and I really enjoyed our discussions on religion.  I wish I could chat with you more.
Banjo:  One of the most hilarious posters on GITP.  I love being in your WW games.
SirDr.Horrible; Without your support I wouldn't have been able to get to FWA.  Thanks for that, the awesome art and badge, and for being my friend.  Hope to see ya around Halloween again.
Lykan:  Hehehe.  i remember the violent times, lass.  The stabbity deaths and Ceika feeding ya steaks so you'd stop eating me.  Those memories always make me smile.
Cobra Ikari:  One of the most sincere huggers I know!  Hope to see ya soon at a GITP meet-up.
Cristo:  its always a pleasure to see ya at the meet-ups and I hope i can make it to  the chicage festivities.
Dirk Kris::  You're an awesome poster and a pleasure to interact with on the boards. :)
Faux Paw:  You have an awesome screen name and the cutest suits!
Furry Weekend: I didn't realize that you were watching my journal, but whoever happens to be reading this, I want to compliment you on an excellent staff and good board game collection.
Glowsheep:  I love my hat!!  Thanks for letting me be your art minion, oh so long ago!  Hope to see ya in March!
Growly: You have great art and a great heart.   Its always a pleasure to ya when I'm in Atlanta.
Fursuit Tourney: You're watching me too?  I think I'm misreading how this works with communities.  Umm...well, I'm sad that JT got eliminated, but you do have some cute videos and suits.  One year I hope to be a part of your contest.
Haruki:  You know how to make me smile!  Wish ya lived closer so you could visit.  When are you gonna start making Angelic Slayer t-shirts?  I want one.
Jaxson:  Its good to have a friend will I can talk WWE with.  HOpe things go better for ya soon with a new job.
Kampie: Hope to see ya again next year, hope to take that crown from ya, too.
BlackFox:  Oh how I loved that avatar of yours with the fox standing on the polymorph spell with the confused look.  Viva La Feud.
Skye: Wooo.  You're one of the friends I've had the longest online.  I am so glad that I bumped into you and thrilled that we continue to talk.  I can't see something Twilight without thinking "I bet Skye has that."  :)
Kyrian: Hope to see ya at Gencon.  Reemmber the wild times we had together in Town?  Those were awesome!!
Mottenfest: It was great to meet ya at FWA.  Hope to bump into ya there next year.
Kenyon:  You were always so great at RPing.  Your characters were unique and the allergy to healing magic was an awesome touch, I'd love to steal for a character one day, but probably won't.
Katalina:  Thanks for showing me Furrie Haven.  its a great place and I'm happy to flolic there.
Wes:  I wish we could really talk religion some more.  I loved your discussions.
Phoenix:  Thanks for the awesome awesome trip to the zoo.  Touching an octopus and feeding the llamas were wonderful, oh and helping me get my first timbits and for always being someone I could talk to about anything.
Hitomi:  Really missed ya at OOTSCON this year.  Come back to see us.  Unfortunately, we didn't get to RP for as long as I did with some other Townies, but we did have some awesome scenes.
Ranan: Sadly, you post less often than I do, but when you do, they always make me laugh.  Thanks for letting me help clean up a bit and it was great to meet ya at FWA.  See ya next year?
Reinholdt:  Sniper Kitty!  You were a worthy opponent in BG and a wonderful addition to the OOTS CON.  Hope to continue seeing you online and goofiing off in WW games.
Syruss: I...well...don't know much about you, but I hear you're good at Left 4 Dead.  It would rock to get to try to NOM your brain sometime.
TangyWolf:  Cute Avatar and seems like a really great person.  Hope to cross paths with you sometime in the future. I love your color scheme.
TwoBit Writer:  You rock the playground!  Keep being awesome and I'm sorry, its late and you're at the end of the list.  Ummm...you deserve something cool, too.  Errr  I hope to see ya at Gen-Con or at least at OOTSCON.

That was fun, but longer than I thought.  Who knew so many people were interested in me??

All it takes is a blackout to realize how much we rely on electricity. What's your most memorable story from a power outage?

View 501 Answers

Deciding that since I didn't have the computer or Wii to distract me, I should get some cleaning done, so I grabbed the flashlight and the broom and swept.  Its not that memorable, but has a rather perverse irony to me.

I'm amazed that the only news source not talking about Michael Jackson happens to be the Daily Show.  How messed up is that the only news program covering actual news is the fake news program??

(GM): "you all see what appears to be the overgrown ruins of an ancient temple"
Player: "can we tell who it was a temple to?"
(GM) "not at a glance - any such indication is covered by ivy, weeds, tree-limbs and other vegetation."
Llama: "oh, so it's a moss-que..."

My sources, who follow technology and human rights issues more closely than I, assure me this is a legitimate and good thing, so I'm copy & pasting this.

If you're on Twitter, set your location to Tehran; your timezone to GMT +3.30. Iranian security forces are hunting for bloggers using location/timezone searches. The more people at this location, the more of a log jam it creates for forces trying to shut down Iranians' access to the internet. Cut & paste; pass it on.

Today, I opened up a "Suit" savings account at my bank. By this time tomorrow it will only have 103 dollars in it, but at least its a start toward saving up money for a fursuit. I'm hoping to afford a suit by [info]sirdrhorrible His Kaku Q. [info]spookaboo suit is really awesome and fun and adorable and seems to be the embodiment of everything I want to experience and be when I'm suiting.  Of course, I'm not positive that by the time I can afford a suit, he'll still be interested in making one, but that's the current plan.

Anyway, I'm looking at this as a strong positive step toward saving for a suit.
